Title 드라이브-트레인 댐퍼를 적용한 NREL 5 MW 풍력터빈의 응답 (Response of NREL 5 MW Wind Turbine with Drive-train Damper)

Abstract It is meaningful to check power output response and load response together using the NREL 5 MW wind turbine, which represents typical onshore and offshore wind turbines. In this paper, the effect of the drive-train damper on shaft load reduction is verified by using the NREL 5 MW wind turbine model. A drive-train damper in the form of a band-pass filter, which is commonly used in industrial MW wind turbines, is applied. The wind turbine controller is mainly divided into a power controller and load controller. When the power controller and the drive-train damper are considered at the same time, the damage equivalent load of the drive-train shaft and power output responses according to the time constant of the first-order low pass filter are examined. In addition, the effects and limitations of the drive-train damper are investigated. The power output responses and damage equivalent loads are presented with practical results using commercially available DNV GL's Bladed software.
